Torneio
Esse fim de semana será realizado o primeiro torneio de porte nacional de Futebol Americano no Brasil. O Tubarões do Cerrado, time de Futebol Americano de Brasília-DF, em conjunto com o Cuiabá Arsenal (Cuiabá-MT), Ipanema Tatuís (Rio de Janeiro-RJ) e Federais (time formado por jogadores de vários estados: SP, GO, RJ, AM e MG) estão organizando o I Torneio Capital de Futebol Americano em Samambaia-DF, no período de 28 a 30 de Abril de 2007.
O campeonato será disputado no sistema todos contra todos e será campeão o time com melhor campanha.
Os jogos acontecerão no estádio Rorizão que é o estádio de futebol da cidade de Samambaia-DF, cidade satélite de Brasília. Serão duas partidas por dia durante os três dias do evento: 28 a 30 de Abril de 2007.
O estádio possui capacidade para 8.000 pessoas e estará totalmente adaptado para prática do Futebol Americano nesse período.
As Equipes
Cuiabá Arsenal é o time de Futebol Americano da capital de MT e foi criado em 2006. Conta com o apoio da Faculdade de Educação Física da UFMT que cede o campo para os treinamentos e já disputou cinco partidas com times de outros estados, organizou vários eventos em Cuiabá e divulga sistematicamente a prática desse esporte em nossa capital.

Tubarões do Cerrado é o time de Brasília e também o maior rival do Cuiabá Arsenal. Nos dois jogos já realizados entre as duas equipes (um em Cuiabá e outro em Brasília) uma vitória para cada time.
Ipanema Tatuís é um dos bons times de Futebol Americano do Rio de Janeiro-RJ, onde o Futebol Americano é praticado há vários anos na praia. O campeonato carioca, chamado de Carioca Bowl, terá sua oitava edição disputada em 2007. O maior desafio dos Tátúis será a adaptação ao jogo na grama. 
Federais é um time organizado pelo treinador do São Paulo Storm, Mario Lewandowski, com um pouco de ajuda minha, que conseguiu reunir jogadores de vários times do Brasil para formar o primeiro time nacional do país. O time será composto por jogadores do S.P. Storm, Sorocaba Vipers, Sharks (São Paulo) , Mamutes (Rio de Janeiro), Red Wolves (Goiás), Locomotiva (Minas Gerais) e Cavaliers (Amazonas), o que mostra a força de vontade dos praticantes de futebol americano ao redor do país
Os Federais contam com uma equipe experiente e com bons valores individuais, o maior desafio do time será o entrosamento .
